Larrakia Nation’s success relies on the support of the broader community, both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal. If you have an interest in, want to get involved with or be inspired by Darwin’s Aboriginal community, we are the best place to start. There’s lots of ways to engage and we want to hear from you.

Come to an event
We run a lot of events, some just for our clients or members, but a lot are for everyone – no matter who you are. They are a great way to meet the locals, find out what makes them tick, and get under the skin of Darwin. We have music, workshops, lectures, art exhibitions and festivals throughout the year.
You can view our upcoming events here and we also let people know about upcoming events through our e-new.
Larrakia Nation is committed to working for a better future for the Larrakia, local Aboriginal people and Larrakia country. Not all of what we do is funded, and many of the most important things that the community needs do not have funding available to support them. Organisations and individuals provide financial and in-kind donations to Larrakia Nation.

We have a lot of opportunities for volunteers that work with us, whether it’s a work placement, a skill share or just a helping hand for a community day. We also have a Community Volunteer Scheme that supports visits to isolated Aboriginal elders.
We have a proper process that ensures we provide a safe environment and a productive experience for our volunteers. You can read more information on volunteering with Larrakia Nation here.
