Larrakia Nation has a new scheme to support people to visit and spend time with Aboriginal elders in Darwin. With support from the Department of Social Services, we are currently looking for people willing to volunteer their time to support isolated frail aged Aboriginal people at home and in residential care.

Our elders have a wealth of knowledge and have seen huge changes in their lifetime, but often suffer with poor health, insecure housing and a lack of support networks. It’s also a great way for young Aboriginal people to get in touch with our culture and our history.

Please email or phone our Community Services Division if you want to make a difference to the lives of one of our elders.
