“East Arm is a place of importance because of our sacred sites in the area. Dariba Ngungalinya and

other ceremonial grounds. Kapalgua, A hunting area with a vast numbers of fish, crabs and bush

tucker is found there. In more recent times it was used as a quarantine area for the Leprosy camps, I

used to go visit my uncle Bert Bacho who suffered from Leprosy there. There are many Aboriginal

people buried around East Point area as it was a popular camping ground.” – Tibby Quall, Larrakia Elder
