James Gaston has a unique view on the world, swaying from more traditional styles in his art to sometimes quirky images. James has a robust intellect and a vivid imagination to which his images resonate.
Born in Adelaide in 1970, he moved to the Northern Territiory in 1980. His mother who country is Roper River is from the stolen generation.
In 2002 James worked at the C.I.A (Croker Island Association) compiling data on the Stolen Generation and remains interested in exploring the consequences of cultural displacement in his art. In 2003 James completed a Certificate in Visual Arts at the Charles Darwin University.
